Golfers will be able to experience a luxurious camp like no other when Dalat Palace Golf Club and Novotel Dalat launch their golf camp program.
Camp participants will be led by PGA professional Kenny Saunders who has recently moved from the United States to serve as the golf pro at the Dalat Palace Golf Club.
The program hopes to help golfing enthusiasts bring their skills to the next level. It will feature lessons on essential golfing skills, including work to be done on grip, stance, posture, and swing, chipping, and putting. Participants will be given drills to complete each day, with their efforts culminating into an end-of-camp tournament.
Saunders has run many camps in the US and said that the Dalat camp is completely different.
“In the States, golf camps tend to move people around like cattle. But here in Dalat, we’ve tied the instruction to 4- and 5-star accommodation. This is a camp where luxury will be the order of the day.
“We wanted to give the student a chance to get away from the crowded courses where intimidation is a factor. They can come to Dalat, enjoy the beauty and have the best atmosphere possible to learn the game of golf.” adds Saunders.
General Manager of the Novotel Dalat and Sofitel Dalat Palace Antoine Sirot said that the timing of the camp couldn’t have been better considering the soaring popularity of golf in the region.
“We’ve been getting all kinds of requests for a camp program like this. Ten years ago, it never could have happened. But now, with more Vietnamese players looking for a venue to improve their game and the country itself lighting up on radar screens all over Southeast Asia and East Asia as a destination for golf, the timing couldn’t be better.”
The four day camp is open to adults but students as young as 16 will be considered if they are accompanied by a guardian. The cost of the camp starts from US $571 per golfer and commencing on August 2 with a second camp is scheduled from August 9-12.
