Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, part of The Rezidor Hotel Group, on Sunday announced plans to open a second property in the Northern Emirates.
Radisson SAS Hotel Al Qurm, Ras Al-Khaimah will be a city centre hotel targeting corporate, government and tourist markets.
The 269-room hotel will feature a private beach front, four specialty restaurants, breakfast café, lobby café, banqueting hall, nightclub and spa and fitness area.
The property is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2009.
"Ras Al-Khaimah has made major upgrades to its airport and road networks and is said to be one of the UAE's strongest emerging tourism spots with its focus to attract sustainable tourism due to its unspoiled nature and stunning scenery," Jean-Marc Busato, area vice president of The Rezidor Hotel Group, said in a statement.
"It's important that Rezidor is part of this development and we aim to have a presence in each emirate within the next five years."
Rezidor has also announced that it will manage a beach resort in Fujairah, the Radisson Al Aqah Beach Resort, increasing its portfolio to six hotels.
It currently has two properties in Dubai and one beach resort in the emirate of Sharjah. The group's next launch in the UAE will be the Radisson SAS Residence, Dubai Marina in 2008.
