Paul Hutton to manage Hilton’s flagship hotel in Australasia, the Hilton Sydney
Hilton Hotels Corporation has appointed Australian Paul Hutton as the new General Manager of the Hilton Sydney. Paul, who was most recently General Manager at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, is set to lead the team at the Hilton Sydney to new levels of achievement and success.

Paul’s experience in managing large hotels with significant food and beverage operations makes him the right person to take the Hilton Sydney to the next level of success.”
Paul has loyally served Hilton Hotels around the world for more that 24 years, commencing with Hilton as a food and beverage trainee at the Noga Hilton Geneva. He has extensive experience in Australia having been the manager of Decanter’s Piano Bar at the Hilton on the Park – Melbourne early in his career. In 1990, Paul took up the challenge of successfully revitalising the hotel’s restaurant, Gallery Café, and was then appointed Beverage Manager.
He took his expertise to the Hilton Sydney in 1992 to oversee the operations of seven F&B outlets in the hotel. He was instrumental in updating training and induction manuals, formulating business plans and budgets, and personally training staff in service excellence. The outlets flourished under his direction as he pushed forward persistently with innovative marketing and promotional activities.
Paul has since worked at the Hilton Abu Dhabi, Baynunah Hilton Tower, Dubai Hilton, Nile Hilton Cairo, Egypt and Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, Romania. In 2003, he became the General Manager of Kuwait’s first integrated business, leisure and lifestyle resort, Kuwait Hilton & Resort. Under his guidance, the property was voted the "Leading Hotel Choice" by Middle East business travellers across the region in the annual 2004 Business Development Research Consultants (BDRC) Middle East Business Guest Survey.
The pinnacle of his career came when Paul was awarded “Best Hotel Manager” at the Worldwide Hospitality Awards 2004. The Worldwide Hospitality Awards give recognition to hotel brand innovations throughout the world and Paul was selected for the prestigious award after delivering outstanding innovations, giving creative momentum to the hotel industry.
Paul has transferred to Sydney from the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, another of Hilton’s flagship properties, where he had been General Manager for the past 3 years. Hutton is married to Lynne and he has three daughters – Stephanie, Alina and Tanwen, aged 13, 6 and 5 respectively.
