A star-studded 120-strong cast will take to the fairways at Abu Dhabi Golf Club's stunning National Course for the first major golf drama of 2009, the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, from January 15 - 18th.

With two of the world's top five players, Ireland's triple Major-winner Padraig Harrington (No 4) and Spanish maestro Sergio Garcia (No 2), taking centre stage and attracting worldwide attention at the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority-organised event, young hero and defending champion, Martin Kaymer is also challenging for the limelight.

Alongside superstars Harrington, Garcia, and home favourite the UAE-based Swede, Henrik Stenson; 2007 Abu Dhabi champion, England’s Paul Casey and the 2008 Masters champion, Trevor Immelman will also vie for the Championship’s coveted Falcon Trophy.

Colourful Brit, Ian Poulter and Spanish favourite and Abu Dhabi stalwart, Miguel Angel Jiménez are both contesting, while two of Australia’s top golfers, Robert Allenby and Aaron Baddeley – ranked world Nos 27 and 33 respectively – will also take to the rolling fairways at the capital’s premier club.
