World-Class Ladies Golf Tournament Honda LPGA Thailand to boost Thailand's tourism

Channel 7, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and IMG announced that the Honda LPGA Thailand will be held at Siam Country Club Pattaya Plantation Course from February 26 to March 1. The tournament is the first Asian stop of LPGA 2009 season, offering a prize purse of US$1.45 million will boost Thailand's tourism, drawing golf fans around Thailand and from overseas to visit the kingdom.

The Honda LPGA Thailand will be headlined by the Rolex Rankings' world number one Lorena Ochoa and world number three Paula Creamer, two superstars in women's golf.

Sixty of world's top women players will be competing over the four-day, 72-hole stroke play tournament, which has no cut. The tournament will showcase the best players including Laura Davies, Natalie Gulbis, Mika Miyazato and Shiho Oyama, whom have already confirmed to participate the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Over 25,000 spectators attended Honda LPGA Thailand 2007, and this year's number is expected to double. Pitak Pruttisarikorn, Director of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co.,Ltd.
