Hyatt Pure was the big winner at the Asia Spa & Wellness Festival Gold Awards, taking home four gongs including Best Spa Group.
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts vice president spa operations Gordon Tareta said: “We are thrilled and honored to receive this award. This recognition is truly a reflection of the effort and commitment each and every member of our Hyatt Pure team demonstrates day in and day out. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of the people we touch and for Hyatt Pure, this award recognises this effort”.
Hyatt Pure was also named in the Best Spa Ambience and Best Resort Spa categories for The Barai, Hyatt Hua Hin, Thailand and Best Wellness Centre for Song Spa, Hyatt Regency Dongguan, China.

The awards were chosen from a pool of 212 nominations, with the judging process including mystery visits and spa audits.
Tareta added that that out of the 67 Hyatt Pure spas in operation worldwide, 23 were in the Asia-Pacific region with three more slated to open in 2009.
“There are more than 20 spa projects in the pipeline for the Asia Pacific region,” he said.
Hyatt Pure spas are only featured in properties that meet a list of criteria including components such as employee training programmes, operating concept, menu offerings, physical attributes, physical quality, day-to-day maintenance procedures, service delivery, brand compliance, product quality, and marketing standards.
Of the new-build spas to be opened at Hyatt hotels worldwide in 2009, all will be developed and operated under the Hyatt Pure brand.
In the Middle East, this includes the recently-opened Grand Hyatt Doha along with Park Hyatt Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Hyatt Regency Abu Dhabi, both due to open in Q3 2009.
