Thai Airways International Will Launch Direct Flights to Oslo, Norway

Thai Airways International announces the introduction of direct flights between Bangkok and Oslo. THAI will be the first South East Asian Carrier to serve the traveling demand between Norway and Thailand, starting from 15 June 2009 onwards.

By operating flights on the route Bangkok - Oslo, the company will fulfill the growing demand of passengers and cargo between Scandinavia and Asia. Norway exports salmon and electronic devices using Thailand as a distribution center to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. As for imports, Norway orders, fresh vegetables and fruits and other products from Korea, Taiwan, Japan and Thailand, with Thailand as the main center before delivery to Norway.

THAI already has a Sales office in Oslo, Norway. In addition, the introduction of new route is also in line with THAI’s Business Turnaround Plan on fleet and route development, to utilize aircraft at maximum capacity.

THAI’s Bangkok - Oslo v.v. operations will utilize A340-500 aircraft, with Royal Silk (Business Class) 60 seats, Premium Economy 42 seats and Economy Class 113 seats. Effective 15 June 2009 onwards, the direct flights will be operating five days per week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with 11 hours flight time.
