Million-dollar hotel re-opens in St Petersburg

Corinthia Hotels officially re-opened last week its luxury hotel in St. Petersburg in Russia after million-dollar refurbishments and extensions.

International Hotel Investments (IHI), who manages the hotel, has spent an estimated US$140 million over the past two years for its refurbishment.

After refurbishment, the Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel located on Nevskij Prospect in St. Petersburg now has 400 bedrooms and more facilities than any other hotel in the city.

It has a brand new foyer, restaurants and new bars as well as two new reconstructed adjoining buildings, Nevskij 59 and Nevskij 55.

Nevskij 59 features the hotel’s 107 executive suites and Presidential Suite whilst Nevskij 55 comprises of a retail shopping mall and commercial centre.

In attendance at the grand opening ceremony was His Excellency Professor Guido de Marco, President Emeritus of Malta, Mr. Alfred Pisani, Founder and Chairman of Corinthia Hotels, Mr. Vadim Tulpanov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and Her Excellency the Governor of St. Petersburg, Valentina Matvienko who officially inaugurated the hotel.

Pisani said the new Corinthia Hotel hoped to secure the future of St. Petersburg by attracting more leisure travellers with its luxury services and more international meetings and conference delegates with the hotels new meetings facilities.
