Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, will set foot in India with its first property in Jaipur near Amber.
The largest luxury hospitality chain in North America with 56 iconic properties and 22,000 hotel rooms around the globe will also be the largest so far in Jaipur. Scheduled to be launched in September 2010, the hotel will be a 248-room property.
The hotel is at present under construction, adjacent to Le Meridien on the Jaipur-Delhi highway. With Jaipur developing as an attractive meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions destination, the hotel hopes to capitalise on this, especially with its green tag.
To accommodate the area’s growing meetings market, there will also be a 48,500 square foot convention centre as well as gardens that can host over 1,000 guests. The Green Partnership programme at the hotel will focus on improvements in areas of waste management, energy and water conservation, and innovative community outreach programmes involving local groups and partnerships.
The hotel will focus on health food, organic wines and will have a on-site herb garden.
