Swissotel with a Taste of Switzerland

Dip into Swiss fondues and an array of authentic Swiss delicacies at the Swissotel Sydney "Swiss Food Festival" to take place from July 31 to August 16.

This year, the hotel is featuring Swiss cuisine from the Region du Lac Leman near Lake Geneva, the French speaking part of Switzerland. Swissotel Sydney gave the public a foretaste of the forthcoming Food Festival during the Sydney Winter Festival held in Hyde Park over the weekend. Despite cool weather, Sydneysiders flocked to the Swissotels tent where Martin Kaspar, the hotels Chef and Beverage Director was on hand to serve mouth watering Raclette and Swiss Cheese fondue, washed down with warm Swiss red wine.

Martin Kaspar has artfully shaped an authentic menu for Swissotels forthcoming Swiss Food Festival using the freshest and finest imported and Australian produce. Festival guests will sample dishes like Papet Vaudois, Omble Chevalier in white wine sauce on fennel, Malakoff, Fricassee de Porc and Tarte au Vin blanc along with other classic dishes from the beautiful Lake Geneva region. To accompany this unique food experience, guests will ‘dine beneath the vines’ and taste quality wine made by Australia’s best Swiss wine makers, with entertainment from the “Trio Roger Tille” direct from Switzerland.
Diners at the Festival will also have the opportunity to win two return economy class tickets from Sydney to Zurich, courtesy of Swiss International Air Lines, including eight nights’ accommodation and gourmet breakfast at Swissotel Zurich, Swissôtel Métropole Geneva, Swissotel Le Plaza Basel and the famous Fairmont Le Montreux Palace.
