Billed as one of the most dramatic and atmospheric races on the Formula 1 calendar – and the only one worldwide to be held at night – the 2009 Formula 1TM SingTel SingaporeGrand Prix will heat up the Lion City's streets again on 27 September.

A packed schedule of fast cars, amazing action, fantastic fireworks, sizzling nightlife and entertainment will begin on September 25 – two days before the race itself roars through the heart of Singapore's buzzing downtown Marina Bay district. Featuring complex corners and multiple overtaking opportunities, the challenging 5.067km street circuit is pegged as one of the most difficult on the F1 circuit, testing the capabilities of even the most experienced drivers.

Last year, the inaugural event was praised as one of the best in the F1 series, with the lighting not only meeting but surpassing expectations, creating an electrifying and exciting atmosphere enjoyed by all. The unique night-time staging and the success of the 2008 event coupled with Singapore's renowned energy and experience in hosting major events, mean this year's race will appeal not just to motoring enthusiasts, but also to travelling executives, celebrities and even families keen to take in the festive ambience.
