Clement Carey, a 28-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has been named general manager of The Kitano New York, located on Park Avenue in the historic Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan. The 149-guestroom hotel, which is the city's first and only Japanese-owned hotel, features recently renovated guestrooms and suites, including three spacious townhouse suites, situated in a historic townhouse built in 1896 and painstakingly restored by the hotel in 1995 to compliment its original façade. The Kitano New York also offers the city's only authentic Tatami Japanese Suite, a traditional $1 million Japanese-style guest suite offering authentic furnishings, Asian tradition and cultural services.

In addition, the hotel offers fine dining at its Michelin-rated Hakubai Restaurant, featuring Kaiseki cuisine, as well as its Garden Café. Considered to be one of the top jazz venues in the city, The Kitano New York's Bar Lounge also hosts live performances by some of jazz music's most renowned musicians each Wednesday through Saturday evening.

As general manager, Mr. Carey is responsible for overall operations such as overseeing sales & marketing and food & beverage outlets of the four-diamond deluxe hotel. The hotel's food & beverage outlets include The Garden Café, offering American/French continental cuisine, Hakubai, the Bar Lounge and the hotel's notable event/meeting venues such as executive boardroom, rooftop penthouse and rooftop outdoor terrace. The hotel's rooftop spaces are known for their spectacular views of New York City landmark buildings such as the Empire State and MetLife Buildings and Grand Central Station.

Mr. Carey brings an extensive knowledge and experience in operations, food & beverage and sales & marketing, having held positions in all areas of hotel operations at some of the industry's leading hotels across the U.S.
