Daika Estate Co, the property development arm of Daika Group, will continue its expansion in Pattaya next year with plans to launch a luxury condominium project worth more than 2 billion baht.

Pattaya still lacks high-end supply despite demand for such products from both Thai and foreign buyers, said Suebpong Atichartakorn, executive director at Daika Estate.

The planned condo, the company's second project, will feature at least 100 units with an average price of about 80,000 baht per square metre. The project is expected to be located on Wong Amat beach, where the company launched its first project two years ago.

It plans to launch the new project in the first half of next year.

Dr Suebpong also pins hopes on a government plan to develop a high-speed train connecting Bangkok and the Eastern Seaboard over the next five years.

The company's existing project is the 2-billion-baht The Sanctuary Wong Amat, located on a nine-rai site on Wong Amat beach, next to the Sanctuary of Truth tourist attraction.

It has sold 120 out of 200 units with prices starting at 5 million baht. The project is due to be completed in February next year.

Daika also plans to enter the boutique resort and hotel business in the next two to three years, said Dr Suebpong.

The company currently has four to five land plots in Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Pattaya and Khao Yai.
